Why you should hold your Wedding @ the SEA Aquarium in Singapore.

So, I recently performed at the most beautiful wedding yet,
within the comforts of one of the top tourist destination in Singapore - SEA Aquarium.
Now, i know that the aquarium has been a popular choice for many corporate functions & company DnDs,
but THIS Wedding, was a whole new underwater wonderland.

Believe me,
i perform for an average of at least one wedding per week,
and this one exceeded all expectations.

Anyone who has been to the SEA Aquarium will know that the last observatory,
where the humongous aquarium for the Open Ocean Habitat stand,
is the perfect ending to the aquarium tour,
and probably worth the entrance fee by itself as an attraction.

Imagine that space being transformed into a dining hall with
raining glitter,
tiffany chairs,
underwater-themed decorations,
starfish and shellfish trinkets,
all to set up for a backdrop of soaring manta-rays and squadrons of marine life frolicking in their natural habitat.

No wonder my Facebook post of this photo garnered so many likes.

So here are some reasons why you should totally hold your wedding at the RWS SEA Aquarium, if you happen to be pretty rich.

Screw flowers and half-hearted tea lights!
With a backdrop like this,
cake cutting and champagne pouring has never looked more magnificent.

You are allowed to have ridiculously pretty table decor,
like starfish centrepieces, and reflective lazy susans,
and yet they will not look over the top.

Tiffany Chairs look better in an aquarium than on a lawn.

And you get a sky full of stars, indoors.

Imagine dining in front of fishes,
while having a nice piece of cod fish.

Instagrammers be snapping' with glee.
Shots like these will probably garner a tonne of likes.

 Meanwhile, on my own Instagram...
I just had to!

Photowhoring is allowed because every corner is a photo point!

You can place a band at the top of the space to perform for your guests.
You can even get to sing a song for them.
At least that was what the bride did, she did a special surprise performance for her hubby :)
And with the tiered ballroom, everyone was able to have a grand view of the bride singing.

You are free to roam around the other areas of the aquarium,
champagne glass in hand.

You get to champagne-tease fishes.

The stroll towards the ballroom will be lined with mini aquariums and different
underwater habitat displays,
so much so that you would already have taken 13942309854 pictures
before you even reach the final destination.
The build up to the climax is important, they say :)

freakish feb over & out!

Freakish feb was gone in the blink of an eye,
i spent the month celebrating, feasting, falling sick, recovering & performing.
Couldn't have done more things in the month, i was MAXED OUT.

Lou hei, steamboat, banlart, gatherings with old friends,
CNY is my favorite time of the year (:

After 初三,CNY events started to pour in!
有财神在左右,今年一定 HUAT 个天翻地覆!

Had the chance to perform at a 60s themed CNY dinner,
the experience was crazy with the disco lightings and all!!

Definitely feeling comfy in the rickshaw :D

Met Auntie Lucy backstage, man Chong Qing seriously rocks that look!! hahaha
I couldn't help but ask how big his boobs are
and he told me it's a C cup bra with 5 layers of NUBRA inside..
POWER!!!

I also had the great honour to meet and sing alongside Hong kong veteran actress 商天娥!
I've been seeing 娥姐 in all TVB HK dramas it's almost likes she jumped out of the tv hahaa

Our band had the great to perform for her segment!

The Mafia Band.
Featuring Ein on keys, Jeremy on drums, Spruce on Saxophone,
Darrel on Er Hu and James on Keys...
It was a killer Shanghai Jazz lineup!

14Feb, I was treated to an amazing meal on Valentine's Day!
I had never really been to any fine-dining restaurant so the experience was pretty jaw-dropping.

Starters began with this weird concoction of chocolate powder and potato bite...

Everything on this plate was raw & fresh, the prawns the mussels..

Natural ingredients from the ocean, seaweed, mushroom, mussels..
no salt was added but the dish was salty enough due to it's natural components!

Lobster, the best tasting gnocchi i've ever had in my life,
and petal garnishings!

A deconstructed Sneakers Bar,
it has all the ingredients inside a sneakers bar but presented with a twist!

Left to right: Cherry popsicle, madeline, Earl grey cake,
Popcorn and marshmallow on a stick
The popcorn has this amazing popping sensation..
it's crazy how simple things works out to taste like heaven!

A very satisfied me before digging in to the truffle pudding

21Feb, i held my first solo public showcase after the launch of my EP last year!
What better stage than to have it at the beautiful Esplanade Waterfront Outdoors
It was all good until my second set, when it started to pour really heavily :(

More about the show in my next blog entry,
all i could say was... seeing everyone stay even though it was pouring was truly touching T_T

The last day of CNY called for a celebration!
Ending the festive period with a bang with our Sparkle Music Appreciation Dinner :D
Everyone was shouting HUAT AR in this picture

The month ended with a roadshow at Chinapoint,
my original 勇敢証明 was chosen as 插曲 for Channel U's 9pm drama "我要嫁出去” !

 I'm all ready for March!!

Age is just a number - birthday rants

so i tell myself, age is just a number.

yeap, a number that hopefully doesn't ever change from this moment on
please thank you very much!!!

Truth is i never thought much about my youth,
because i constantly live in a timeframe that is 5 years older than my actual age.
I had been mingling around with older people ever since i was 19 because of singing,
and since then i had this illusion that i'm always younger than people around me.

This illusion was shattered last week on my birthday,
and in fact it was shattered long ago when people start to ask me and my sister - who's older.
It's heartbreaking given that we are a further apart in age than we seem to be.

So i started to have a lot of thoughts about changing my life,
how i can be a better person,
how i can step up as a singer/songwriter/performer,
and i ended up feeling worse than ever because i felt like
i'm drowning in a quicksand of time; the more i struggle, the faster i sink.

So perhaps the best way out of it,
is not to avoid it,
but accept it as it comes,
go with the flow.
SINK WITH IT.

I firmly believe sinking can be enjoyable though,
maybe the peaks of my life will come at a later age
(this hope is ignited when i realized that carly rae jepson is freaking 27 years old!! *shocked i thought she's 19 or something).

Well, i sunk happily during my birthday that's for sure!

The weekend before i had a showcase
with the team from Sparkle Live Music at the Esplanade Waterfront (:
Intensive rehearsals with Ein on keys, Fatt on guitar/footdrums,
& fellow singers Leon & Alfred!
Before showtime!
